Multidisciplinary visual creative specializing in bespoke illustration, branding, and 360 marketing.

Chicago-based designer and art director Nia O’Reilly-Amandes is a creative with an analytical mind, using observation, research, and experimentation to solve design problems. Her personal style is playful and colorful, inspired by midcentury fonts and signage, botanical illustrations, and Scandinavian patterns.

In her career, Nia has worked as an in-house creative, largely within the live entertainment industry, and as an independent designer. She’s created bespoke illustrations and logos, built comprehensive branding systems, produced thousands of marketing assets, and designed the packaging for over a dozen albums.

Aside from hands-on design, Nia is also adept at analyzing process and operations, getting ahead of any confusion or inconsistency by creating templates, style guides, and training documents. Her goal is to alleviate any insecurity or second-guessing and allow anyone working with her designs to enjoy the comfort of well-defined and reassuring parameters.

Nia is an enthusiastic collaborator and a resourceful and accessible mentor who leads with humor and empathy. She loves managing a team, and has overseen full-time and contract graphic designers, producers, photographers, and motion designers.

Nia has a general love of all things aesthetic. She’s a trained photographer, has a passion for home design, and is currently developing her block printing skills. Nia also enjoys creative writing and singing with her family, and has been fortunate enough to play dozens of concerts alongside her sister and her best friend in the doo-wop rock band, Midnight Moxie.
